Nicoll Cooney Silva, Ashburton (High Court Expert Witness)
Nicoll Cooney Silva was an example of a law firm which had undertaken a substantial amount of "high-end"property related work arising out of one "project" for a number of clients with the same issues.
Despite producing what could only be described as a stellar outcome for the clients resulting in all but one of the clients happily paying Nicoll Cooney Silva's costs without demure, one client pursued the matter through the cost revision process resulting in a reduction of that complainants share of the overall cost.
The complainant elected to engage Counsel and have the matter reviewed in the High Court. Richard Burcher worked closely with the QC representing Nicoll Cooney Silva, providing 2 extensive Briefs of Evidence which were integral to a pre-hearing negotiated settlement having a successful outcome for the law firm.
